Visit Socotra
Terms of Service
The booking terms that apply when you reserve an expedition with Visit Socotra.
Effective June 2026
Who we are
Visit Socotra Expeditions arranges small-group and private expedition travel to Socotra. These terms govern website use, enquiries, bookings, payments, and the services we coordinate before and during your trip.
Some services may be delivered by local operators, guides, accommodation partners, transport providers, payment processors, or other suppliers. We coordinate those services with care, but each supplier may also apply its own operating rules and safety requirements.
Bookings and eligibility
A booking is created when you submit the checkout form and either pay the required amount or select an approved manual payment method. We may decline or cancel a booking if required information is incomplete, payment cannot be verified, or the expedition cannot be operated safely.
You are responsible for ensuring that every traveller in your party is fit for the itinerary, holds valid travel documents, and follows the preparation requirements shared during onboarding.
Prices and payments
Prices are shown in USD unless otherwise stated. The checkout may display an estimated converted amount in another supported currency, but the booking ledger is maintained in USD.
Deposit, balance, and pay-in-full options follow the expedition payment policy shown at checkout. Balances become due before departure according to the policy attached to the expedition.
Customer responsibilities
You agree to provide accurate traveller information, emergency contact details, passport information, signed documents, and any other onboarding requirements by the deadlines we communicate.
You must follow guide instructions, local laws, conservation rules, and safety briefings while travelling. We may remove a traveller from an activity if their conduct places themselves, other guests, staff, local communities, or the environment at risk.
Changes, cancellations, and force majeure
Customer change and cancellation requests are reviewed by our team under the cancellation policy and the expedition's operational constraints.
Socotra travel can be affected by weather, flight schedules, permits, local conditions, supplier availability, and other events outside our control. We may adjust routing, accommodations, activities, timing, or logistics when necessary to protect safety or keep the expedition viable.
Liability and insurance
Adventure travel carries inherent risks. You are responsible for arranging comprehensive travel insurance that covers the full expedition dates, medical evacuation where appropriate, trip interruption, and the activities you choose to join.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount paid to us for the affected booking, excluding indirect losses, consequential losses, and matters caused by third-party suppliers or events outside our reasonable control.
